In the majority of cases wooden roof structures were not deemed worthy of the same attention as the buildings of which they are an integral part and they were frequently subject to inappropriate intervention, replacement, or demolition. This book describes, with the help of an example - the timber roof structure of the Dome of Vercelli, the various steps that have to be taken in order to restore a wooden roof. A major focus has been laid on the diagnostic part, which is fundamental for every kind of intervention. Roofs are often hidden and therefore not considered as important. So: MAKE THE ROOFS PUBLIC.
