Seeing high unemployment rates in European countries requires solution offers. Social security systems are a way to protect persons against effects of unemployment and mainly poverty. Examining provisions of different social systems of EU states on unemployment provides an idea on the possibility of success of these national strategies to minimize poverty that is caused by unemployment.
