However, less work has been done in India with respect to absconding behavior and its management of Apis cerana. Hence the present investigations were undertaken to understand the absconding behavior of Apis cerana indica in sub tropical climate and its management.

Mr. Pradeepa, S. D. has obtained M.Sc. (Agri.) in Apiculture in 2012. Presently, he is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Agril. Entomology, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India. He is extensively working on bees and leafhoppers and has few publications to his credit.
