Prasant Patnaik (born 1941) is a senior journalist, Photographer and Novelist. His photo journalism and political commentary is very unique in nature. His career spread across 55 years in newspaper and television journalism in Odisha. Always a crusader against corruption and inequities in society, Mr. Patnaik has written many books including this novella Asati, Kalpana Rani; Andhakaara ra Kabya, Punascha Andhar, Raban Podi, Krushna Chudaa ra Ranga, MaruTirtha ra Jala, Mo Drushtire and Laxman Ubaacha. His awards include Jibana Ranga Award, Chintamani Panigrahi Memorial Award and Naarad Sanman.
