As the available compounds are mostly non-heterocyclic, synthetic chemists are now focusing on heterocyclic moieties to evaluate their potential as antibacterial and antifungal drugs. This book focuses on synthesis and antimicrobial evaluation of some 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives and a triazole derivative derived from 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid has been described.
