Mango (Mangifera indica L.) belongs to the family Anacardiaceae, genus Mangifera and believed to have originated in the Indo-Burman region. It is considered as kings of fruits and seems to be under cultivation for more over 9000 years in India. It is the most preferred among all the fruits for table purpose. The important cultivars grown under Gujarat conditions are Kesar, Alphonso, Rajapuri, Totapuri, Jamadar, Vashibadami, Dashehari, Langra, Karanjiyo, Sardar and Neelum etcAmong the different methods of grafting, soft wood grafting is most preferably used due to cheap and easy method as well as it requires less time, to prepare. Keeping this in view, an experiment entitled "Performance of different varieties of mango stone on germination, growth and success of soft wood grafting of mango (Mangifera indica L.) variety Kesar" with following objectives. OBJECTIVES: [1] To find out the performance of root stocks of different mango cultivars on germination and growth [2] To assess the success percent of graft of different mango cultivars [3] To study the effect of different root stocks on growth of scion after grafting
