Tobacco-use is a widespread phenomenon in this country. The Government has taken steps towards discouraging smoking through signing the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, thus, restricting advertising and smoking in public places. The tobacco industries are adopting different types of indirect advertisement and activities to promote their products targeting young people as they are particularly vulnerable to it. Tobacco advertising is also used to target women. On the face of different restrictions, the tobacco industry frequently changes and adopts new approach for promotion of their tobacco products. This book contains the different types of indirect advertisement and promotional activities adopted by the industries in south-west areas of Bangladesh in 2014.

I am involved in research relating to environmental health issues as a member of the Japan Association of Drainage and Environment, Bangladesh (JADE-B) since 2007. Prior to that I completed MS in Statistics from the University of Dhaka and also have completed MPH (Environmental Health) from Northern University Bangladesh in 2014.
