The study was carried out in 8 tribal dominated mandals (G. L. Puram, Kurupam, Jiyyammavalasa, Komarada, Paravathipuram, Makkuva, Saluru and Pachipenta) of Vizianagaram district inhabited by the tribals viz. Gadaba, Kondadora, Jatapus and Savara. The tribal population of the district is 1,94,293 (9.6%) with a literacy rate of 47.71%. The sample is limited to 200 students of SSC belonging to different management schools in agency area of Vizianagaram district which is a part of the North coastal Andhra Pradesh lying between 17o 15' -19o15' North latitude and 83o 0'-83o 45' East longitude.
