The present study explored the morphological and skeletal impacts of the pyrethroid pesticide cypermethrin on the growing larvae of the guppy fish (from the age of 5-day-old until the age of 45-day-old) as well as the histopathological impacts of this pesticide on the gills and trunk mesonephroi of the 45-day-old guppy juveniles. The results obtained from this study concluded that cypermethrin exhibited teratogenic effects on the developing guppy fish larvae in terms of external malformations, skeletal changes as well as severe histopathological lesions on the gills and kidneys compared to controls.Based on these results, this research recommends avoiding the random spraying of this pesticide, especially near water sources, due to the adverse impact of this pesticide on non-target organisms and thus indirectly damage to public health.
