The Mirror of God's WordA Biblical View of Physical Beauty Surgery to remove a brain tumor resulted in a change to Robin's facial features, causing her to take a deep look into the mirror of God's Word to find the answers to questions many of us have asked. "Why did God create me as He did when He is certainly capable of creating so much beauty?" "If beauty brings honor and glory to God, how can I possibly do so in my current physical condition?" "Is it possible for me to be content with my appearance?" "Will I ever be able to focus on others without thinking about how I look?" "How important is physical beauty to God anyway?" These are just some of the questions Robin seeks to answer in this six-week Bible study. The lessons contained herein do not focus on the subject of "inner beauty," although that is important to God. Instead, they are designed to help us transform our thinking by giving us God's viewpoint on this all-too-often misunderstood subject of physical beauty.
Autorenporträt
Robin has served in full-time ministry with her husband, Dan, for more than forty years and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She is a Sunday school teacher, a ladies' conference speaker, a personal mentor, and has had many articles published in a Christian ladies' magazine. Sensing the increasing needs of women in the 21st century, she sought further training from several biblical counseling ministries and has earned certifications from two of them. While these things would be considered Robin's "credentials," she would prefer to simply be known as a wife, mother of four, and grandmother of twelve. She has a great love for her Colorado mountains and enjoys the lessons God gives through His book of nature. She would be quick to tell you that she is not a Bible scholar, but she does love the insight given by studying words from their Greek and Hebrew meanings. It is her desire to rightly divide the word of truth and bring a new perspective to the importance we, as women, place upon our physical appearance. The philosophy of the world in which we live has had a great influence on our thinking about physical beauty. May you find within these pages a transformation by renewing your mind and trusting God's will in His creation of you. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Rom. 12:2).
