A number of derivatives of various heterocyclic or other compounds had been synthesized in search of novel, potent, effective and less toxic antimicrobial agents. Benzimidazole is a versatile pharmacophore in the field of medicinal chemistry and has adverse range of pharmacological activities. The synthesis of novel benzimidazole derivatives remains a main focus of medicinal research, and provide the vital information for drug discovery.
