In this study done at St. Johns Medical College Hospital, reference ranges for biochemical parameters of liver and renal functions were determined in a Bangalore City population. Blood samples from 153 healthy subjects were obtained after taking detailed medical and physical examination. Serum was analyzed for bilirubin, total protein, albumin,liver enzymes, urea and creatinine. The results obtained were compared with the values that were currently being used. I am Dr Roopa Murgod, from Bangalore, India. I am currently employed in Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre as an Assistant Professor in Biochemistry. Apart than teaching, I am involved in the management of the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory of the hospital and in ongoing research activities in the institute.
