Rose Anne Pescod created the character Mrs. Word to connect with children about the importance of reading. For decades she volunteered as Mrs. Word in classrooms across Canada, bringing an enchanting energy to hundreds of children along the way. Mrs. Word's mission was to reach children who didn't like to read and struggled with sounding out the words and reading out loud. Through books, games, and sharing her own struggles with reading, Mrs. Word touched the lives of many children who now realize that reading is fun and reading is for everyone.
