This book describes the introduction of high value improved Eucalyptus trees varieties to Kenya for planting by small scale farmers. The small scale farmers always endeavor to maximize their farm outputs by adopting new varieties and production systems. Commercial trees are one way to support higher farm outputs with consequent higher incomes as part of wealth creation and rural development. in additions trees contribute to environmental conservation especially through carbon fixing. The improved eucalyptus varieties have proven to grow faster and yield more wood biomass as well as better wood quality. Farmers expect to harvest their trees within a shorter period and meet market standards especially for high values products such as electricity transmission poles and timber. The research shares the process of introduction and the success achieved.
