Little bear cub Kuma has a spirit of adventure! He lives with his mom, dad, and big brother at the foothills of a dark forest in Yosemite Park, near a creek that flows from the top of the mountains. It's a place of plentiful fish and community among the bears of the park, but trouble lurks beyond its safe borders. Kuma's mother cautions him and his brother about the forest with its buzzing bees, dangerous darkness, and tall trees-but this only makes Kuma want to explore it more! So, one day when his parents are gathering food and his brother is playing with his friends, Kuma ventures out on his own. It's not long before his adventure takes a turn... Bear Club Chalet is a picture book about a bear cub who uses his smarts to survive in the wilderness. It's about encouraging kids to have adventurous spirits with visits to national parks, and it is a perfect bedtime read for young children (especially those who love camping!). Most importantly, this book teaches children to have reverent awe for nature and all its beauty and danger-and to listen to their parents when they warn them about danger.
Autorenporträt
A Software Professional living in Pleasanton, California, Rahul Pandhe has a passion for hiking and camping and soaking up all of nature's beauty. He and his family take regular trips to national parks to learn about nature, and this story was actually born from one such vacation in Yosemite National Park, in which they were snowed in their cabin and had to make up stories for entertainment! He hopes Bear Club Chalet will foster a love of nature in young children, just as it did in his own two sons.
