The present study was taken up for evaluating the in-vitro antioxidant activity of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Polyalthia longifolia. It involved scavenging of various free radicals like DPPH, H2O2, super-oxide, nitric oxide and estimate of the reducing capability. Anti-inflammatory potential of the extracts were evaluated using carragennan induced paw edema and cotton wool granuloma models. The study was also designed to screen antiulcer activity of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Polyalthia longifolia by aspirin induced, ethanol induced, and pylorus ligation models.
