The present research work on "Land use and Socio-economic Structure of the Lower Damodar Basin in Barddhaman District, West Bengal" is an attempt to study the land use and socio-economic condition of two banks of River Damodar in Barddhaman District. From a close observation and analysis, it is revealed that agricultural land use is dominant among all land use of different blocks. It is also revealed that expansion of agricultural land use and associated socio-economic activities may cause of development of the study area. In spite of different problems and constraints, there are ample potentialities. Emphasis should be given on agriculture. Agricultural land use is important for society and the economy of the study area. The infrastructural facility should be enhanced in the agricultural sector and the agro-industrial sector. Involvement of By implementing the development measures, the land use and socio-economic condition of the study area should be developed. The aim of this research work is to study the land use and its limitation caused by different problems, disparities in socio-economics status.
