One of the most prominent business and industry symbols in Egypt and the Arab world. He is the founder of the GB Auto group of companies. His path is full of achievements, hardships and lessons. He succeeded in overcoming major crises. Raouf studied medicine at Ain Shams University and graduated in 1971. He made a fateful decision: he left medicine and went to trade and business. He worked for years in the family company "Ghabbour Brothers" until he reached the position of managing director of the company, and at this stage he was able to overcome many difficulties with the company. In 1991, Raouf resigned from "Ghabbour Brothers" and began focusing on his companies' activities and investments, expanding into many fields: trading in cars, tires, spare parts, motorcycles, tuk-tuks, trucks, buses, construction equipment, and oils. At a later stage, he established factories to assemble cars and manufacture components and bodies for buses, motorcycles, and tuk-tuks. Because of the economic conditions that Egypt went through during this period, his companies were subjected to a severe financial crisis, as a result of which he almost declared bankruptcy, but he faced this crisis with innovative ideas that were not devoid of boldness and adventure. Here in his memoirs (Experiences and Testaments), he delves into these issues in an easy, fun, and bold manner. He also writes in detail about the circumstances of his imprisonment for more than six months in a case during which he refused to denounce an unjust and wronged government employee. Here, Ghabbour explains important milestones in his life, up to the stage of his illness, which he dealt with with complete satisfaction and acceptance, as if he were a noble knight who decided to rise above the pain and suffering in his spirit, in order to reach the finish line victorious, strong, and with his head to the sky.
