Autorenporträt
Born and raised to Dominican immigrant parents in Washington Heights, New York City - Raquel's early years revolved around two loves: church and family. Later, after earning a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Business, she served as a missionary in Mexico where she discovered a passion for children and minimalist living. She went on to pursue a master's degree in Theology and upon graduation, returned to New York. There, she continued studies while serving as an adjunct professor, working in youth ministry and organizing medical missions to the Dominican Republic. Life took a wild and beautiful turn in 2010 when she met her husband Tim. They married in 2012 and together are raising five amazing children. Following her father's passing in 2021, Raquel discovered solace in writing. Channeling her emotions into creativity, she wrote her first children's book, "Grandpa Jose". Her hope is that this book will help families navigate the complexities of grief with their children.
