The main purpose for writing this true story is to bring honour and glory to Him the Almighty who in His love and kindness gracefully heard my cry for help and assistance. He took me from humble beginnings, growing up as an awkward and shy crew-cut boy from a unhappy home with a deep hurt in my soul, to become a champion in one of the most difficult professional sports. I have rubbed shoulders with the best, fortunate to having a meagre share of success before eventually discovering that my destiny lies not in my own hands but in God's loving hands who ordains the life and the steps of His children according to His will and purpose. He blessed me with a family and friends, while safekeeping me from dangers. Through faith in His Son Jesus Christ and by His grace alone He has given me peace through forgiveness of sin and eternal life as a free gift and through the power of the Holy Spirit the secret to live a victorious life. It is my prayer that reading this book would mean something to someone somewhere in God's great universe as you share in my life experiences.

Autorenporträt

Retief Pretorius Waltman played with legends such as Gary Player, Sam Snead and Ben Hogan. Following a personal conviction of faith, he gave up golf after completing the Masters to train as a missionary. Years later, he is still serving God as an evangelist and today gives golf lessons at a driving range in Boksburg, South Africa.
