The Reverend James Rettie's "crib" was the bottom drawer of a chest of drawers in the home of a poor hill farming family in Scotland. After living his early life of something of a "loose cannon" with much drinking, smoking and socialising James, inadvertently and somewhat, reluctantly became involved in fundraising at the local church. Subsequently at the baptism of his second daughter "something peculiar happened", he said which he later realised was the Holy Spirit confirming in his mind the message that Christ had died for his sins and that he should accept him into his life. Thereafter, his life took a different turn as he dedicated himself to becoming a preacher and ultimately became the leader of The Christian Fellowship of Healing (Highlands). This book is a "must read" for anyone who senses that they are unworthy or ill-equipped to serve God in Kingdom work.
