Dr. Reba Peoples is a truth seeker, dreamer, and spirit in evolution. As a board-certified psychiatrist, personal development coach and founder of Imara Health and Wellness, Dr. Peoples' mission is to help individuals and communities learn SMART ways to harness both the power of ancient wisdom and the gift of modern brain science to build extraordinary lives that are healthy, joyful and purpose-driven. Dr. Peoples developed SMART Wellness(R) as a tool to help her patients incorporate lifestyle choices and mindset shifts that enable them to feel energized, self-aware and emotionally resilient. SMART Wellness is a holistic approach that not only recognizes the impact of lifestyle factors such as sleep, movement and stress management on impacting health outcomes. SMART Wellness also takes into consideration the influence of personal, family and cultural history on emotional health. This framework serves as the cornerstone of Dr. Peoples' work with individuals and communities who are looking for guidance in achieving their wellness goals. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Peoples provides coaching, lectures, workshops, and retreats that further explore SMART Wellness concepts. Dr. Peoples is a graduate of the Medical College of Ohio. She is board certified in Psychiatry and has additional training in Functional Medicine via the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). Dr. Peoples holds a certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute (JRI) in Brookline, Massachusetts and is a 2017 Fellow of the OM (Orange Method) Community Coach Training Program in Healing Justice.
