Poppy, the storybook's teacher/narrator, will be teaching and speaking the Word of God throughout this book. Poppy reflects Jesus's light to the world. Through him, the characters in the story will learn firsthand how to live a life that is good, acceptable, and pleasing to God. The characters and family will forever change, and the light of Jesus will eventually shine through each of them. By example, through their love, joy, and kindness, they will show others Jesus's perfect love. If situations or circumstances cause the characters to wander, Poppy will be there, teaching and reminding them of God's Word.

Poppy characterizes Balaam's talking donkey from the biblical book of Numbers chapter 22. A portion of chapter 22 is included at the back of the storybook.

The St. James family had been struggling with their Christian faith and the ability to live it trusting in God's love. They were caught up in daily tasks and did not have time to visit with Jesus. This day would prove to be especially difficult. Circumstances begin to change because of a young boy's prayer.

This storybook can be read by children ages nine to twelve but can also be read to and understood by a younger audience.

About the Author

Rebecca lives in Florida with her husband, Tim. As a young child she grew up on a family owned dairy farm in the Adirondacks of New York, on Lake Champlain. Her adult years were blessed with raising her family of four and at times fostered several children. Later she was a business person and upon the sale of her business twenty years ago, moved to Florida near family. After fifteen years working in banking and for a law firm, she retired. Since retirement she has immersed herself in studying the Bible and has dedicated her life to serving our LORD.

Each year, many weeks and her husband's vacation are spent entertaining grandkids. This keeps her young and in touch with challenges facing children today. Her years working with youth at her church's Vacation Bible School program, has given her insight into their desires to learn more about Jesus Christ. She enjoys teaching and sharing HIS Word to anyone who will listen.
