Intentional Engagement®: Empowered Path to Culture Change is about connecting with and empowering your workforce. It is an operational approach to creating a work environment where people want to stay and thrive. These environments do not exist by chance. They occur through intentional actions focused on the demographics of your workforce and tailored to its needs. Intentional Engagement® requires work and as much accountability from leadership as it does from the individual contributor. An underlying assumption for this model is a desire for a work environment where fair treatment and fair pay exist. That being said, there are many companies willing to match or beat what you pay to your employees. So, why do people want to stay at your company? What makes people say that your work place is where they want to work or encourage their friends to work? This book, describing the business model Intentional Engagement® Model, explores the transformational journey of Paul, a newly appointed CEO, and how he learned and transformed his organization into an intentionally engagedworkforce-reducing turnover and becoming "an employer of choice."
Autorenporträt
Richard Leaton, MBA, began his career as a United States Naval officer. Despite the popular notion that when an officer says jump, the sailors ask, "How high?", this statement could not be further from the truth in daily shipboard operations. The sailors have ideas and opinions. The sailors have families and ambitions. This realization began Richard's journey of discovery-how to build a team through connection and engagement. Richard left the Navy after five years and joined the General Electric Company where he led projects, teams and ultimately a global department focused on the learning and development resources of nearly 500,000 individuals. As an executive and general manager, Richard was able to test his model of Intentional Engagement® with his own team and the positive results were evident to anyone who visited his department. Implementation of his Intentional Engagement® model included his international teams in Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Central and South America. After nearly 20 years, Richard left General Electric and now splits his time as both an Information Technology executive and leadership author.
