Ima dislikes school so much that she often neglects her school work to focus on those things she really likes. As a result, she consistently falls behind in her classes. When Ima realizes how far behind she is, she panics and is filled with fear. Ima is overwhelmed with doubts that she can ever catch up and pass her school subjects. In desperation, she calls on God for help. God hears Ima's prayer and encourages her by providing her with a plan to catch up with her school work. Accepting God's plan, Ima finds as way to accomplish what seemed impossible to her. Ruth Hester was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana. She is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor of arts degree.Ruth's love of art began when she was a young girl burdened with frequent illnesses. Coloring in coloring books; the smell of crayons; and putting colors together to make the book vivid always made her feel better. The work Ruth does now she calls, "grown up coloring." And, it still makes her feel good.Today Ruth is an accomplished artist having created extensive works of art. These include paintings, drawings, illustrations, carvings and wall murals. In addition, she with a group of fellow artists, created a Christian Art Show that was presented in area churches. Ruth's creativity is not limited to art. Even though this is her first published book, she has written countless inspirational and motivational poems.Ruth has always loved working with children as a teacher or volunteer instructor, and doing art that makes them smile. At 84 years of age, she hopes to inspire the young, and the not so young, to keep doing what they love. Even if it's only an "inch every day!"
