Mamata Kamat se graduó en la Facultad de Ciencias Odontológicas SDM, Dharwad, y se graduó en la especialidad de Patología Oral y Microbiología en la Facultad de Odontología y Hospital PMNM, Bagalkot. Actualmente trabaja como profesora asociada en la Facultad de Odontología y el Hospital Bharati Vidyapeeth (considerado como universidad), Sangli, y está realizando un doctorado.
