Substitution of 50 % recommended dose of N through FYM along with 50 % RDF resulted significantly highest growth and yield of grain (5488 kg ha-1) and straw (6975 kg ha-1) which were at par with application 50 % N either through green manure (GM, Sesbania aculeata) or wheat straw (WS) along with 50 % RDF. Application 50 % N through FYM along with 50 % RDF results in the highest gross income (Rs. 69078 ha-1), net income (Rs. 29912 ha-1) and B: C ratio (1.23) which showed statistically alike with application 50 % RDF along with 50% N either through GM or WS. Substitution of 50 % N either through FYM or GM or WS along with 50% RDF helped in buildup the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil.
