Since its discovery in 1969, SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) has been largely studied, and is today backed by more than 50,000 scientific publications highlighting its efficiency as an essential primary antioxidant. This book is a full compilation of more than 250 scientific works on SOD, and allows answering to the following questions: what is SOD and how it works? Why SOD is recognized as the most powerful antioxidant agent? How a SOD supplementation can prevent aging and its related physiological alterations? Since its discovery in 1969, SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) has been largely studied, and is today backed by more than 50,000 scientific publications highlighting its efficiency as an essential primary antioxidant. This book is a full compilation of more than 250 scientific works on SOD, and allows answering to the following questions: what is SOD and how it works? Why SOD is recognized as the most powerful antioxidant agent? How a SOD supplementation can prevent aging and its related physiological alterations? Until know, SOD oral administration was ineffective due to major limitations (enzyme degradation, bioavailability). Highest source of natural and bioactive SuperOxide Dismutase, SOD B, exclusively produced by Bionov (Avignon, France) has been demonstrated to boost the body's endogenous primary antioxidant defenses expression, including SOD, after an oral supplementation. Only source of natural SOD with demonstrated gastro-protection, SOD B has been clinically proven to correctoxidative stress and inflammation. This work should be useful to professionals of the nutraceutical and dietary supplement markets, as well as to any scientist interested in the field of antioxidants.
Autorenporträt
Both graduated in the field of food science, nutrition and health, authors have an expert knowledge in SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) science, having analysed more than 1,000 scientific publications on this key antioxidant molecule. Authors have also published several scientific papers on SOD B efficacy, including a major review on skin applications.
