Black women in Canada and Brazil are the basis of society, which means that they are payed lower incomes and suffer from different forms of prejudice in society. Jamaican-born, living in Canada for many years, Afua Cooper, and Brazilian Alzira Rufino are two women whose activism put in discussion ideas that support those discourses. Sérgio Luz e Souza is an English teacher who, in the 1980s, attended to Theater classes and, in the 1990s, graduated in Arts. Later on, Luz e Souza graduated in English from Santa Catarina Federal University and at the same institution obtained his Master's degree. This book is the result of the research he conducted.
