Five candidate and one commercial safflower genotypes were evaluated for yield potential and their assessment for assessed correlation between yield and its component traits during the year 2012-2013. The results revealed that among safflower genotypes, the growth and yield components were statistically non-significant. Correlation studies showed significant (P0.05) and positive correlation was observed between capsules plant-1 and seed yield plant-1 (r= 0.7979 ), plant height and branches plant-1 (r=0.4958 ), secondary branches plant-1 and capsules plant-1 (r= 0.7995 ), secondary branches plant-1 and seed index (r= 0.4544 ), secondary branches plant-1 and seed yield plant-1 (r= 0.0.7400 ), seeds capsule-1 and seed yield plant-1 (r= 0.6777 ), seed index and seed yield plant-1 (r= 0.6683 ). On the other hand, significant and negative association was observed between days to 75% flowering and secondary branches plant-1 (r= -0.5085 ), days to 75% flowering and seed index (r= -0.4784), secondary branches plant-1 and seeds Capsule-1 (r= -0.5318 ), days to 90% maturity and seed index (r= -0.4950 ). I hope this book will provide huge knowledge to readers about safflower crop.
