Mary Jean Kelso is the descendant of an Alamo Defender. She has many children's, young adult and adult books to her credit. She writes for newspapers and magazines. She presents her books at the Nevada State Legisture's Legislative Preview through the Made in Nevada organization. She has received a National Press Assoc. Award and a Nevada Press Assoc. Award while also being recognized by children's organizations. Many of her books for children are used in schools and are especially appropriate for children with Special Needs.
