Optimum Nitrogen fertilizer and compost rate requirement of crops vary from place to place due to several environmental factors. Therefore, there is a need to determine area specific N fertilizer and compost recommendations for available varieties. Accordingly, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of N fertilizer and compost rate on growth and yield of durum wheat at Beressa watershed, Meskan Woreda, SNNPRS, in 2010 cropping season. Thedurum wheat variety, Ejersa, was used as a test crop. The experiment has four levels of N (0, 23, 46 and 69 kg ha-1) and four rates of compost (0,…mehr

Thedurum wheat variety, Ejersa, was used as a test crop. The experiment has four levels of N (0, 23, 46 and 69 kg ha-1) and four rates of compost (0, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 t ha-1) arranged in factorial combination using randomized complete block design with three replications. Therefore, the research was carried out with the following objectives: To investigate the effects of compost and/or chemical fertilizer on growth and grain yield of Wheat, and to determine the economic benefit of organic and inorganic fertilizers
