Planning, organizing, motivating and controlling are all basic managerial functions. Personnel Management is also known as the Human Resources Management today. The HRM function includes a variety of activities, recruiting and training the best employees, ensuring they are high performers, dealing with performance issues, managing employee benefits and compensation, employee records and personnel policies. Hence, a modest attempt is made thisstudy to analyze the personnel management practices undertaken by APSRTC.

Dr. T.M. Rajendra Prasad took his Ph.D. in Political Science and Public Administration from S.V.University, Tirupati, A.P., India. Currently he is working as Junior Lecturer in Civics, SPW Junior College, Tirupati. He has presented good number of papers at national/international conferences.
