Tolbert James "Shorty" Lyon, a widely-published writer, is best known as a hunter/trapper/philosopher but he was also a pioneer, homesteader, miner, mill hand, woodcutter, forester, conservationist, rancher, hunting guide, farmer and an honored member of The New Mexico Trapper's Hall of Fame.
