The four most popular teachings about the rapture of the church are the pre, mid, and posttribulation as well as the prewrath views. Of these, only the pretribulation and prewrath positions state that the day of Christ's coming to rapture the church is unknown because Jesus said, "Be on the alert for you do not know which day your Lord is coming." (Matthew 24:42) There is disagreement between these two camps over the exact nature of the imminence of the rapture. Pretribulationists contend that the next prophecy to be fulfilled is the rapture so it is presently imminent. Prewrath teaching understands that the rapture cannot occur at any moment right now but it will become imminent in the future after certain Biblical prophecies are fulfilled. Tom Keeley (ThM, Dallas Theological Seminary) asks some penetrating questions of those who hold to the traditional and more popular pretribulation rapture view that may make them rethink their understanding about rapture imminence. "Jesus is coming... Jesus is coming soon... Jesus is coming soon, but not as soon as you may think!"
