This book, titled Macroeconomics of big crises (The Great Depression, The Great Recession and The Great Lockdown) contains the author's research on short-term economic fluctuations - business cycles, with a special focus on the phenomenology of deep recessions - big crises. The book analyzes in detail the three big crises with a focus on the effectiveness / ineffectiveness of policies - monetary and fiscal policy. Big crises have the potential to provoke rethinking of crucial economic concepts and hypotheses. In this context, the state and the development of macroeconomics in the period after the Great Recession of 2007-2009 are analyzed. The book also elaborates the implications of the Great Recession and of the Crisis induced by the Covid-19 pandemic on the Macedonian economy and provides summarized lessons for the economic policy makers in North Macedonia for action in times of big crisis.
