"In 1917 war raged across Europe, thousands of miles from Western New York. America faced a daunting challenge to build a million-man army. In the rural farming community of Parma the call to bear arms would be answered. One hundred years later, their histories almost forgotten, Honor Roll explores the lives of ninety-nine veterans who once called Parma home. Everyone has a story--it just needs to be told."--Back cover.

Autorenporträt
Always looking for the next adventure, Tammy Mullen combines her love of travel and exploration (and lack of GPS skills), with thirty-five years of genealogical research experience, to uncover the histories of lives lived. Her passion is the thrill of the hunt-starting with a name, re-creating a family tree, and uncovering the hidden stories that built the branches. In her spare time, she teaches family genealogists how to interpret basic DNA results and use genetic genealogy tools to uncover their family's past. Retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Kyle Mullen, with twenty-two years of joint military service experience and an avid interest in military unit histories and heraldry (and innate map-reading skills to keep Tammy from getting lost), brings a critical eye to uncover military stories hidden behind the paper records. Together they live the adventure of exploring local and family histories (without getting lost), uncovering unknown secrets, and places long forgotten.
