The contemporary era of fast technological changes and rapid industrial growth has posed an increasing demand of reliable and unperturbed power systems all around the world. Rising exigency of power supply and declining resources of conventional energy has motivated engineers, scientists to develop renewable energy resources and the techniques to extract optimum electrical power from them. Wind energy proves to be most promising energy resource among all for its non ending characteristic to meet with world power requirement. Wind power generation system provide with the electrical power out of the wind energy. With the technological developments non linear loads using power electronic devices are increasingly becoming popular in day to day life. They are major source of harmonics and reactive power, which lead to several power quality problems; such as poor power factor, heat losses, outages, malfunctioning of equipments and many more. In response to above mentioned concerns, this work addresses the wind power generation system and its power quality improvement using power electronic devices before integration to the grid/load.
