Temesgen Berhanu nasceu na região de Amhara, Etiópia, a 29 de Março de 1989. Frequentou a sua educação elementar e pré-universitária no distrito de Demebecha. O seu ensino superior começou na Universidade Bahir Dar (Kotebe College of Education) e formou-se em BED em Estudos Cívicos e Éticos e finalmente o seu mestrado em Filosofia pela Universidade de Addis Abeba.
