Counting by the Sea is a children's counting book 1-20. Since I love walking on the beach, I chose things I see on my walks. Most of the items are common to the Carolina seashores where I have spent many summers as a child and as an adult. Children love to play at the seashore and children love finding and seeing things washed up on the shore. The items I found on my walks inspired me for the paintings. I enjoyed drawing the pictures because I love to draw pictures of the ocean.

Autorenporträt
Dr. Teressa Beavers, is a teacher and an instructional coach in Rockingham, NC. She lives and grew up in Rockingham, NC. She has spent over 29 years working with children in pre-k thru 9th grades. She presently coaches early childhood teachers in Richmond County Schools NC. She also taught early childhood classes at the community college level. Her passion is working with teachers and helping them make learning fun. She studied early childhood, elementary and 7-9 literacy education at St. Andrews University. She holds a masters of education and masters of school administration from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She received her doctor's degree and educational specialist degree from Wingate University. She holds two National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certificates for Early Childhood ages 3-8. She is certified in Spanish and English as a Second Language. Dr. Beavers loves to travel in her free time, especially to tropical seashores. She enjoys playing golf and camping with her husband. When not at the seashore she is in the mountains. She has done mission work in: India, Honduras, Uganda and Bolivia.
