Larry and Terrie Gates live in the Chiricahua Mountains of Arizona, where they maintain a garden that has attracted 12 species of hummingbirds. Their popular Web site, www.hummingbirdworld.com, has been a major source of information for tens of thousands of visitors. The Gateses have published numerous articles and photographs and have compiled over 50 Christmas Bird Counts in Mississippi and Arizona.
