"The Jester" is a collection of 11 short stories grouped under the larger umbrella of the speculative fiction genre.
They range from transrealism to magic realism and fantasy, and from dystopian to humorous science fiction.
The best description of the book is the beginning of the story called "Halos":
"The events of this story, whose humble and fortunate witness I was, took place on a distant planet that you, dear reader, may know from the travels you have undertaken with your body or with your mind and in a time to which you are now either younger, older, unborn, dead or why not?

"The Jester" is a collection of 11 short stories grouped under the larger umbrella of the speculative fiction genre.

They range from transrealism to magic realism and fantasy, and from dystopian to humorous science fiction.

The best description of the book is the beginning of the story called "Halos":

"The events of this story, whose humble and fortunate witness I was, took place on a distant planet that you, dear reader, may know from the travels you have undertaken with your body or with your mind and in a time to which you are now either younger, older, unborn, dead or why not? contemporary.

It is again possible to recognize these events. Or to have lived them. You may know the characters of the story. You may know me, as I said above, the faithful and humble, the lucky and the reliable witness, and this will only reinforce the fact that all that you will read below is the actual truth, as it wanted to reveal itself to me, whose slave I have always striven to be, and I will continue to be until the end, as decided by the Creator, of my life.

I shall call that planet Earth. And the sun of that planet I will call Sun. These words are of little importance because each of you will recognize in your inner self, embedded in its depths, the true names of that planet and that sun."

Autorenporträt
Theophilus Pomp is (obviously) a pen name.

The author has lived in three countries (currently in Wyandotte, Michigan, US) and in two languages. In his home country, he has published two speculative fiction short story collections ("Wolves and Rotten Apples" and "The Cathedral of the Spoons") and a poetry book ("#57").

"The Jester. 11 Strange Stories" is his first short stories collection available in English.

Theophilus Pomp's prose ranges from transrealism to magic realism and fantasy, and from dystopian to humorous science fiction.

His favorite genre is transrealism, as described by Rudy Rucker in "A Transrealist Manifesto".
