Thomas Bobo grew up in Fayette County, Alabama, where he attended Fayette County High School. He graduated from the University of Alabama and had a long career as a teacher and administrator in the public schools of Montgomery, Alabama, including service as superintendent of the Montgomery Public School System, 1986-1993. He died in 2016.
