How can a man be considered one of Ireland's greatest leaders and then be reviled by even his own party in the span of four years? John Redmond's success as the champion of Irish Home Rule lasted mere months before the First World War and the internal struggles surrounding the Easter Rising destroyed his bid to become "Ireland's Greatest Leader." Open this important piece of Irish history to begin to understand how events beyond Redmond's control decimated his life's work and led to decades of unrest on the Emerald Isle.
