Traci Royall is a writer, poet, performer and artist. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Traci is passionate about her work and hopes to help people heal from sharing her experiences. Through experience and hardships, she began writing poetry and short stories as a way of escaping her reality. After seeing the joy her words brought into people's lives, she knew her artistry needed to be shared with the world. At the age of nine, Traci's mother died from a drug overdose. This was a tragic loss for her and her family. Two years after her mother's death, she was placed into foster care. After moving from home to home, she experienced abuse at the hands of her foster parents. Refusing to become another statistic, she pushed herself in school and graduated from Sarah J Hale High School. In the pursuit to better her life, she moved to North Carolina, attended Wake Technical Community College and graduated with an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts. In furthering her education, Traci attended Kaplan University in which she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.Out of all her accomplishments, her greatest joy is being a mom. She is the proud mother of a beautiful young adult daughter Talena. Despite every obstacle she faced, she remained focused, tenacious and motivated to provide the best life possible for her daughter. Traci vowed her daughter would never have to succumb to the difficulties she endured as a child. It motivated her to develop the work ethic she has and strive for excellence in everything she does. She hopes her story would encourage others to pursuit their dreams, never give up and know that anything is possible if you put forth the effort.
