This research investigates the effects of child abuse on academic performance of primary school pupils' in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. Specifically, the study tried to; identify the personal characteristics of pupils' and teachers in public primary school in Kwande Local Government Area and investigate the effect of child abuse on pupils' academic performance in primary school and found that; child abuse has significant effects on both pupils' assessment grades and their participation in class activities; and thus concludes that child abuse has significant effects on pupils' academic performance in primary school. It was recommended among other things that, child abuse and it effects should receive attention in education policy forums in Benue State and Nigeria at large.
