Recommendations proffered include, among others, continuous staff development, revisiting the syllabi and teacher training curricula in institutions of higher learning in order to equip the teachers adequately. learners need to be assisted to go through the rigors of the writing process in an effort to make them aware of the fact that they donot only learn to write for the teacher and examinations, but also for life.

Tsitsi Nyoni (nee Dzinoreva) is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Great Zimbabwe University. She is a language specialist in the area of Shona, a national language of Zimbabwe. She has published a number of articles in the area and on contemporary issues such as HIV and AIDS,Gender,Child Abuse and Domestic Violence.
