This book consists of four chapters on selected recent topics regarding the Turkish economy. Emre Akgündüz, Altan Aldan, Kenan Bä¿r and Huzeyfe Torun write about the labor market dynamics of young workers, who are a group that tends to have a high unemployment rate. Aytül Ganio¿lu focuses on food and energy prices in Turkey, which are crucial because those prices frequently exhibit large and rapid increases that dominate the inflation behavior in Turkey. Özgür Arslan and Ünal Seven investigate empirically whether better corporate governance scores of listed Turkish firms make any significant difference in terms of equity performance. Finally, Hilmi Kal aims to pin down the features of a good export equation for the Turkish economy.
