It provides an historical outline of the most influential management ideas and outlines recent developments. It is very unlikely that management fashions will disappear from business environment. As it is impossible to assess a new concept before it has been implemented, there will always be concepts of transitory value. Therefore it is increasingly important that managers are aware of the existence of trends in management to use it accordingly.
