A major challenge that confreonts the human person in our age today is the abuse to his personality which constitutes a bane to his well-being. And it is to be noted that this abuse is as a result of wrong or inadequate conception of the human person. In order to understand the human person, various ideas and approaches have been adopted, however, these ideas and approaches have been largely inadequate and thus wanting as far as a robust understanding of the human person is concerned. In this book, the author adopts an integrative idea of the human person which is the Thomistic and African Communal idea of personhood as a paradigm and a foundation for the pursuit of human well-being. This idea of personhood provides the theoretical framework necessary for understanding the conceptual complementary relationship between the individual and the community for enhancing the well-being of man. It also provides practical consequences that concretises the reality of wholesome human relationship needed for human flourishing. This book is therefore a good material for both students and teachers of philosophy and indeed all vanguards of human development and well-being.
